Action Bronson is pretty good in a “real hip hop” sort of way.
I like it, but I think I still prefer Waka Flocka Flame.

“You know the True Religion gon sag on the Fila”
This joint was perilously close to Everlast territory before the beat dropped…
Feeling this dude right here. El-P back from the undead is a bonus too.
Smoke DZA (feat. A$AP Rocky)-4 LOKO (Official Video)
I still haven’t fully warmed to ASAP Rocky. I dig his aesthetic, ushering in a new era of Harlem style, but it all seems a little surface so far. Nothing staggering about his wordplay, but his ear for beats is undeniable. “4 LOKO” is a case in point: the beat goes, melding Screw-style samples with a nice based loop, but the lyrics are sort of an after-thought. Maybe that’s the point? Regardless, eager to hear some progression in his bars, cuz NY is in dire need of a new champ.
